Alaves to launch ambitious transfer swoop for former Celtic and Nottingham Forest favourite - report

Nottingham Forest academy graduate Oliver Burke could be set to complete yet another transfer.

At the age of just 22, Burke has already turned out for six clubs in his short career, twice moving for huge transfer fees.

The Scottish international left the City Ground in 2016 as German side Red Bull Leipzig secured a reported £13m capture of the teenager who had only 25 Championship appearances to his name.

His career in Germany proved a flop, making no more appearances in the Bundesliga as he had managed for the Reds.

But that did not stop Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion landing his signature in a deal believed to be worth £15m a year later.

In the three seasons that have followed, Burke has only a handful of Baggies outings and has been sent out on loan twice to Celtic and Alaves.

And now the Spanish side are looking to complete a transfer for his services after being impressed by his performances this season.

A report by Spanish newspaper AS claims that Alaves chairman Sergio Fernández has chosen Burke as one of just two loan players he wishes to see stay with the club next season

The decision has come as somewhat of a shock to supporters with Burke, who will command a high wage, has predominantly featured from the bench and only starting seven games.

Burke made 31 appearances for Forest during his breakthrough season, scoring six goals in the league alone.
