Defiant Alexander Grigoryan has been forced to deny he's set to walk out on Alashkert charge of Spartak Moscow's women's team, ahead of their trip to face Rangers.
Steven Gerrard 's side welcome the Armenian dark horses for tonight's Europa League play-off first leg tie at Ibrox - with the loser of the tie dropping into the Europa Conference League.
Grigoryan stated last week after they had beat Kairat Almaty to qualify for the play-offs that Gerrard was his hero and he couldn't wait to challenge him.
But he's been linked in Russia with a return to Spartak Moscow's women's team, where he was previously a manager three years ago before being appointed Alashkert boss earlier this year, after stints at FC Urartu and Tambov.
Grigoryan said: "I said that I wanted to return to women's football soon, but did not name the club I will go to.
"However, I have had no contact with CSKA Moscow. I was manager there for nine months and led them to the title. It was a good spell.
"But the rumours in Russia have no basis with reality."
