Alanis Morissette, 44, announces pregnancy with stunning bump portrait

Alanis Morissette has announced she is expecting her third baby this year.

The 44-year-old singer went public with the news on Instagram with a black and white portrait of her blossoming bump.

"So much Newnewss..." said the Ironic hitmaker, as she revealed she was still hard at work in the recording studio.

Alanis and her husband Mario Treadway are already the proud parents of eight-year-old son Ever Imre Morristte Treadway and two-year-old daughter Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway.

Congratulations to Alanis (Instagram)

Speaking about juggling motherhood with work in an interview with Biography , Alanis joked: "I have discovered the virtues of coffee, truly. Coffee has become very helpful in that I’m sleeping a lot less."

She added: "Previously, personal fulfilment was at home, and then I was on the road, living my vocation. Everything was really compartmentalized. Separate. There was this, and then there was that. Now everything is really integrated.

“I come into my room to do an interview, I go breastfeed, I talk to my husband, I go write a song. Everything’s blended together and, frankly, not a moment too soon. It’s always been a goal, this integration.”

In the past the Canadian star has also spoken of coping with postpartum depression after the births of her first two children.

Speaking to People in 2017, Alanis said: "There are days I’m debilitated to the point where I can barely move."

She continued: "As a kid, I imagined having children and being with an amazing partner. This is a whole other wrench I didn’t anticipate."

Alanis married rapper husband, Mario 'Souleye' Treadway in 2010 - five years after the Canadian star became a US citizen.

The happy couple announced they were expecting their second child in 2016 with a sweet song and an animated video which ended with the trio looking at an ultrasound picture.

Captioning the video on her website, the singer wrote: "The story of my nuclear family in moving pictures, brings us up to this sweet moment.

"[The song was] written, recorded and produced in 6 hours on May 22, 2010 with Guy Sigsworth, on the sly, to surprise Souleye.

"Brendan Huza helped tell our story. May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by. (sic)"
