As far as energy drinks go, Alani Nus do feel a cut above the rest—but according to one TikToker, the peach-flavored ones might have an extra little kick.
Sitting in a car, Annie Sowell (@annielarkboyd) had a ‘Juicy Peach’ flavor of Alani Nu energy drinks in each hand, as she insisted,”These are not Peach Alanis. These are hard seltzers.”
“I’m telling you, as someone who drinks Peach Alani every day and who hasn’t had alcohol in well over a year, I took a sip of both of these. I opened both of them in the Walmart parking lot. That is hard seltzer. That is not Peach Alanis.”
She continued, “I just tried Googling to see if there’s like a recall on a batch of them. I’m not seeing anything, but I’m putting this on the record now because minors buy these, and something’s off. Something’s off. It’s got a kick to it that is not […] just an energy drink. I’m just putting it out there into the world. Do with that information what you will, because this, mm-mm, this is not a Peach Alanis. This tastes like hard seltzer, so…”
The video amassed 162,600 views, with Sowell declaring in the description: “SOMEBODY’S POISONED THE WATERHOLE! Anybody else gotten some weird Alanis lately?”
Sowell didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment and email.

Commenters reported that something was ‘off’
Based on the comments section, Sowell’s problem is not unique, as users claimed that there was something ‘off’ with various Alani flavors.
One commenter wrote, “I had a Pink Slush one the other day that also tastes off.”
“My Hawaiian Shave Ice was off and I knew it, but it was only one time so I don’t know,” another added.
While a third admitted, “Ok, but my Sherbet Swirl is 100% not the same as it was a few months ago.”
“My Blue Slush has tasted sooo weird, and I hate it..” a fourth revealed. “I’ve drank them for 3 years straight now, and I don’t like it. I stopped drinking them because of this.”
And a fifth echoed, “OMG I legit have a Peach Alani every day, and my last 2 have tasted so weird, and I looked up if something was wrong too.”
Have Alani Nu energy drink recipes changed?
Several Redditors have claimed that they’ve noticed a difference in Alani Nu drink flavors. One Reddit post noted that the Witch’s Brew flavor tasted different, with a fellow Redditor adding a comment saying, “They’re definitely a little different, even if Alani won’t admit it. They’re still good, but I have cans from last year and the new ones are definitely more apple-ly, I only get caramel notes as an aftertaste.”
OP then replied saying, “I knew I wasn’t crazy! This years seems just less concentrated. I want to say last year had a more syrupy consistency as well.”
Another Reddit post remarked on Juicy Peach’s different flavor specifically, with OP noting that its “significantly less peachy and more bitter” than before.
“Juicy Peach tastes like straight chemicals!” a commenter agreed. “It’s so bad.
Several Redditors also noted that Alani Nutrition was acquired by Celsius recently, which led to them speculating that the recipe had changed. However, earlier this year, Celsius said on their website that “there are no changes to Celsius or Alani Nu’s products, recipes or ingredients at this time.”
“We continue to operate as separate businesses until the transaction closes, which is expected in the second quarter of 2025,” it added. At this point, now that the transaction is closed, it is unclear whether they have tweaked the recipe.
