Alan Tate's neck grab on Jon Toral in Swansea City v Birmingham sees tempers flare on the touchline

Swansea City legend Alan Tate could find himself in hot water after shoving Birmingham's Jon Toral to the ground during the sides' Championship encounter.

A largely uneventful first half ended goalless at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

However, the major flashpoint came after referee Gavin Ward blew his whistle to signal the end of the opening half.

Toral confronted Swansea's first team coach Tate on the touchline, with the pair exchanging verbals.

Footage of the incident shows Tate raising his arm to the neck area of Toral before shoving him to the ground.

The incident prompted players and coaches to surround Tate, although tempers were quickly cooled.

Jake Bidwell and Matt Grimes both had efforts on target for the hosts in the first half, although clear cut opening were few and far between.

Tate was back in the dugout ahead of the second half.
