Alan Sugar unimpressed with Alison Hammond's 'difficult' question during Apprentice chat

Lord Alan Sugar did not seem overly impressed with Alison Hammond during his appearance on Friday's This Morning.

Alison and her co-host Dermot O'Leary spoke to Lord Sugar live from his home in Florida and invited this year's finalists of The Apprentice into the ITV studio.

As Harpreet Kaur and Kathryn Burn sat on the sofa alongside the hosts, Alison grilled Lord Sugar on why he had chosen Harpreet.

"Lord Sugar, it's so lovely to see you. Can I just ask you, what was it about Harpreet that made you want her as your business partner? Coz I think they were both amazing, both fantastic, how did you decide?" Alison asked him.

"Well, it's always difficult really to answer that question, they were both very, very qualified finalists," Lord Sugar replied.

"At the end of the day I had to summarise thinking back throughout the course of the process, watching what Harpreet did and how she went about doing things, you know it was very very close," the 75-year-old business mogul continued.

"But I just felt that she would be my better business partner. It's always difficult, particularly now, you asking me this in front of them there!" he added as Alison laughed out loud.

"They're both very, very well qualified to receive the position that they did," Lord Sugar then said.

Alison then turned to the two ladies and asked them what it's really like being on the BBC reality show.

"It's full on, the days are so long, we are getting up at 4am, that's true," Kathryn revealed.

The two women also confirmed that they both had to film scenes where Lord Sugar told them that they were "hired" so as to keep the real winner a secret.

Harpreet revealed that she had to re-record her winning moment as Lord Sugar told her that she didn't look "excited enough".

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
