Alan Stubbs in Queen's Park manager frame as Leeann Dempster eyes reunion with Hibs Scottish Cup hero

Alan Stubbs is the front runner to be named as the new Queen's Park manager.

The Scottish Cup-winning Hibs boss is under consideration to take over the League One new boys.

Ray McKinnon has stepped down after leading the Spiders to the League Two title.

Stubbs previously worked with Queen's Park chief executive Leeann Dempster at Easter Road, leaving after breaking the capital side's 114-year curse in the Cup.

But he's in the frame to join up with Dempster once more in Glasgow.

The former Celtic defender has been out of management since he quit his short and unsuccessful stint at St Mirren back in 2018. He has also previously worked at Rotherham.

Queen's Park are looking to continue progressing through the leagues with the backing of Willie Haughey.

They are due to move into the revamped Lesser Hampden facility as the Spiders pursue a full-time professional model though Dempster recently admitted work on the new ground had momentarily "stalled".

They groundshared with Falkirk to see out their title-winning season, playing their final game at the national stadium in March.
