Alan Shearer tells Manchester United player Mason Greenwood what he needs to do next

Alan Shearer hailed Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as one of the best forwards he has seen at his age.

Greenwood has been in sensational form since the season restarted, scoring four goals and registering an assist in his last four Premier League appearances.

The youngster has also been heavily involved in United’s current 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

And Shearer believes that Greenwood has the potential to become one of the best forwards in world football, as long as he remains level-headed.

“I think there is goals, goals, goals, over the next 10 to 12 years if he can keep his feet on the ground,” he told Premier League Productions before United’s draw with Southampton.

“The potential is there, yeah,” the former Newcastle United man said when asked if Greenwood can become one of the best in the world. “Obviously it is very early days but I have been so impressed by what I have seen.

“And when I say there have been goals… I love the way he shifts the ball then smashes it. That is what I enjoyed doing most.

“That is why I think the natural finishing ability is there with him. I think he is the best I have seen at that age for a long time.”
