Alan Shearer believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already made his mind up on his future at Arsenal.
The forward’s future is the big talking point at the Emirates Stadium this summer, with his contract set to expire next year.
That has led some to suggest the FA Cup final against Chelsea could well be his last game for the club, with the Gunners eager to not let him run down his contract and leave for free.
Confidence has grown though that the Gabon international could sign a new deal, with performances improving under Mikel Arteta.
The result of the cup final could have a say, with victory at Wembley offering a route into Europe for the Gunners, having missed out in the Premier League.
But, speaking ahead of the game to the BBC, Shearer believes Aubameyang already knows what he’ll be doing this summer.
“I think his decision’s already made – I don’t know, I’m just guessing,” Shearer said.
“I think it’s irrelevant that if they win it today, his mind is made up. It’s made up already I think.
“You can’t not be anything other than a huge fan of his. 68 in 108 games is an incredible record.
“If, as obviously as he does, Mikel Arteta wants to get Arsenal back to where they want to be, then I think he is definitely key to that.
“If he goes, it would cost an absolute fortune to get someone in to replace him. Not only the salary, but the transfer fee as well.”
