Alan Shearer's words of advice to Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham following Leicester draw

The Premier League's leading goalscorer Alan Shearer has lent some words of advice for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham following a slight dip in form.

The 22-year-old has established himself as Frank Lampard's first choice striker at Stamford Bridge and has repaid the head coach's faith by scoring 15 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Abraham was a doubt for Saturday's Premier League game against Leicester, but was deemed fit enough to be named in the starting 11 for the match.

The striker failed to find the back of the net for the third league game running. With Harry Kane a doubt for the European Championships, Shearer has given Abraham some advice should he wish to fill the boots of the Spurs striker for England.

Frank Lampard praises Antonio Rudiger's impact

"A lot of the time I listen to his manager Frank (Lampard) after games and he says that Chelsea are not killing teams off," Shearer said of Match of the Day.

"This is not a criticism of Tammy Abraham because I am a huge fan of his. He has got a massive future in the game and he's scored 13 league goals this season already, which is a very good return.

"But to get from 15 goals to 25, which he is capable of, you just need a little help and reminding of what the good things to do are.

"There was a very good run from him and Pedro didn't play him in. You could then see the anger in him and he had his arms up in the air and so he should do because that ball should have gone into him.

"There was a moment when Reece James put the ball in the box and he had to be in control of that situation. He shouldn't have let Jonny Evans get there first.

"He provided another good run and he needed to go across Soyuncu and not come back inside. He needed more confidence to go on his left foot.

"It's a really difficult role to play even in his first season in the Premier League like he is. Please don't take that as a criticism as we are fans of him. But to get to that next level, those are the bits that he needs to improve on."
