Alan Shearer believes aspects of Tottenham's performance against Newcastle United provided signs that everything is "not rosy" at Spurs.
The Lilywhites fell to a disappointing defeat at home against the Magpies, with Joelinton netting the only goal of the game as Steve Bruce's men claimed all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And Shearer pinpointed what went wrong for Spurs in the defeat, and in particular as Newcastle took the lead in the 27th minute of the contest.
“I don’t think everything is rosy at Tottenham," he said, analysing the game as a pundit on BBC programme Match of the Day 2.
“We have seen the manager complaining to the press and saying don’t ask me about transfers, it is nothing to do with me.
“He then complains about the transfer window [in Europe] and then he leaves two of his best players on the bench.
“People say about the lack of creativity at Tottenham Hotspur, it happened against Aston Villa and Christian Eriksen came on, he did again today, but it didn’t work.
“The biggest concern for me would be the way they conceded this goal, and the lack of effort from Tottenham players. It was very well worked from Newcastle, but not once in this build up does any Tottenham player break into a sprint, or get within 15 metres of a Newcastle player.
“They don’t get near them, they are jogging and it is not good enough. It is lazy and not working hard enough, and before they know it, it is in theback of the net. That would be the bigger issue for me rather than a lack of creativity.”
Meanwhile, former Tottenham striker Peter Crouch agreed, adding that this was a game Spurs were expected to win, but that they lacked intensity against the Magpies.
