Alan Shearer names three Manchester City players in his team of the week

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has named three Manchester City players in his team of the week following the club's 3-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.

Pep Guardiola 's side cruised past Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Jack Grealish grabbing his first goal of the season, while Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were also on the scoresheet.

England international Grealish was on the receiving end of a high kick to the chest by Wolves defender Nathan Collins, which saw the former Burnley man receive a red card.

City 's comfortable win over Bruno Lage's men saw three stars named in Shearer's Premier League Team of the Week - with Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias all included.

Dias, who was on the bench for the dramatic Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund last week, delivered a dominating performance against Wolves at the weekend. He helped the away side to record a fourth clean sheet of the Premier League season so far.

"Didn’t put a foot wrong and barely gave Wolves' attackers a sniff," Shearer said on the Portuguese defender.

De Bruyne also starred for Guardiola's side in the victory in the Midlands, with the Belgium international adding two more assists to his already outstanding record.

Speaking about the 31-year-old's performance, Newcastle legend Shearer claimed: "There's no stopping him! Another match, another couple of assists."

It was a much-improved performance from Grealish at the weekend, with the winger scoring the opener inside the first minute of the match - and Shearer believes it should help him to kick-on now.

"That's more like it. The early goal helped his confidence. He needs to show more of the same now," the BBC pundit said.

A number of City's first-team stars will be in action for their countries over the next couple of weeks, with Guardiola's men returning to action against Manchester United on Sunday, October 2.
