The former Newcastle United forward is renowned for being one of the best striker’s the English top flight has seen since the league reformed in 1992.

In an interview with Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United captain Gary Neville, Shearer was asked which current Premier League manager he would most have liked to play for.

“When you look at Liverpool and Manchester City now and the chances they can create,” said Shearer on Sky Sports’ The Overlap with Gary Neville.

“So, Jurgen Klopp I suppose. I think he has a great attitude.”

Shearer also took an opportunity to have a dig at Sunderland, the arch rivals of his beloved Newcastle.

When Neville asked Shearer what he thought was the best thing about the Black Cats, the former Newcastle striker replied: “Is there anything good about Sunderland? The best thing is they’re in League One.

Shearer’s response led to Neville adding: “That’s brutal. Sorry to all the Sunderland fans watching this.”
