Mason Greenwood equalled a Manchester United record for goals by a teenager and Alan Shearer has backed him to smash his Premier League goal tally.
The 18-year-old scored his 17th goal of the season when he smashed home the equalsier against West Ham.
He joins the likes of Wayne Rooney and George Best in achieving the feat and Shearer now reckons his tally could be underthreat.
The Newcastle legend retired in 2006 having scored 260 Premier League goals throughout his career.
That record remains unchallenged with Wayne Rooney's haul of 208 a distant second.
But the 1995 league winner is so impressed by Greenwood that he reckons he may have topped his total in a little over a decade.
He said on Match of the Day: "(He is) A potential superstar. I respect the power, he can do it with his left or right foot. He gets it away early and the goalkeepers have no chance.
"I think in 12 or 13 years time we could be talking about the Premier League record goalscorer.
"I know there's so many things that can happen in your career but I think he's that good. He's 18 years of age, he's going to get bigger, he's going to get better."
If Shearer's prediction is correct Greenwood will only be 30 by the time he leapfrogs him in the standings.
Harry Kane still has a good chance of breaking the record having scored 142 times and still has time on his side at the age of 26.
He has been linked with a move away though and may be tempted by a transfer abroad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the man who gave Greenwood his debut, has long spoken about his ability in front of goal, hailing him as one of the best finishers he's come across.
He said: "I've probably run out of superlatives for him because he's that good a finisher. He’s bailed us out a few times and he’s done it again and he's been absolutely top class ever since we gave him an opportunity against Cardiff in the last game of last season - and he was our best player in that game.
"He's just grown and grown in confidence and belief and he trusts himself that his talents, qualities and attributes, actually work at the highest level.
"You expect him to hit the target The chance in the first-half when [Angelo] Ogbonna blocked it, that's also a very good strike, a fantastic hit of the ball. The kid's going from strength to strength."
