Alan Shearer has said Manchester City's battle with Liverpool ensured this season's Premier League will go down as the greatest since the top flight's 1992 revamp.
City's 4-1 win over Brighton on Sunday sealed the Blues a second successive title win as they became the first team to defend the Premier League since Manchester United in 2009.
Analysing the campaign on Match of the Day, Shearer said: "It's been an unbelievable season from both City and Liverpool. Best season we've had in the Premier League since it started back in 1992.
"What they've given us has been nothing short of pure entertainment and it's been absolutely relentless.
"We said about seven or eight weeks ago, 'just wait until the pressure comes in the last couple of weeks of the season'.
"Both teams have shown none of that, they've just won week after week after week and it's just been incredible to watch."

Meanwhile, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes Ilkay Gundogan was instrumental in City's run to the title.
"Last year, he was often a peripheral figure as City romped to 100 points," Keown says in his Mail Online column. "Yet Guardiola has never lost faith in his midfielder.
"With Fernandinho missing much of the second half of the campaign through injury, Gundogan has started all but one match in the 14-game winning run that has carried City to the title.
"It was one of many bold decisions that Guardiola got right. It has often been claimed that Fernandinho is irreplaceable. That is not the case any more."
