Alan Shearer has singled Raheem Sterling and Luke Shaw out for praise, with the pair developing a strong understanding together at Euro 2020.
The current England side have developed a number of partnerships on the pitch, though Shaw and Sterling have really caught the eye when linking up with one another at the tournament.
Shaw and Sterling combined during the Three Lions' win over Germany after the Manchester United full-back sent the ball into the path of the Manchester City forward, who swept home past Manuel Neuer to put England ahead in their Round of 16 match.
Both players have now become indispensable for Southgate, and Shearer was full of praise for the duo when speaking ahead of tonight's fixture at Wembley.

"It's a phenomenal relationship. That relationship that they have with each other," the former Newcastle United striker told BBC.
"There's been a clamour to start different players in that position, but this is the reason Southgate isn't budging Sterling from that left-hand-side. It's because of that relationship between those two."
Such has been their strong sense of understanding on the pitch, Shearer believes the pair are effortlessly forming attacking moves.
"They know when to play it, they have that understanding, Sterling knows where Shaw is going to be at what time, when to pass it, he knows to get the ball into the box," he said.
"Sterling doesn't have to look, he knows Shaw will be on his bike. Shaw is having an incredible tournament, as is Raheem Sterling."

Both players will now be hoping to help England reach the final of Euro 2020 by beating Denmark this evening.
Southgate's side are yet to concede at the tournament, though are facing a team that have scored ten goals in their previous three matches at the tournament.
The Three Lions are the favourites to come out on top at Wembley Stadium tonight, and Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand is confident that his team can benefit from playing with a sense of freedom.
"There is a lot of pressure on the English team compared to us," he said.
"We can and will use this opportunity with everything we have got. They will be helped by the fans but there is also enormous pressure on them because everyone expects them to beat us.”
