Alan Shearer explains why Paul Pogba feels let down by Man Utd as he makes prediction

Alan Shearer reckons Paul Pogba feels let down by Manchester United because things haven't panned out the way they were supposed to.

The Red Devils broke the bank to land the France international from Juventus in 2016, parting with a then world record £89million.

Pogba was meant to take Manchester United to the next level and bring back the glory days from before Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

But the Frenchman's career has never really got going at Old Trafford, and he has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid while Man United have regressed.

Shearer believes the midfielder feels hard done by as things haven't gone to plan for him at United.

"I think he probably feels a little bit let down by what's gone on at United," Shearer wrote in his column in The Sun."It's a mess on both sides.

"When he signed he was supposed to be the start of a rebuild - the glory days returning. The club have not delivered on their promises, so it's not the deal he signed up for.

"Pogba has had injuries but United have never seen the best of the midfielder, either."

United have been without Pogba for the best-part of this season, with the World Cup winner in rehab in Dubai following surgery on his ankle.

On what the future holds for the Frenchman, he added: "My guess is United will cut their losses and try to move on from a four-year spell which was not what either party planned.

"I think he probably feels a little bit let down by what's gone on at United, it's a mess on both sides."
