Alan Shearer explains how Bruno Fernandes has improved every Manchester United player

Alan Shearer has explained how the addition of Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United has helped improve every player at the club.

Fernandes arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in January for an initial £47 million fee and has received many plaudits since.

The Portugal international has only made 12 appearances in the English top-flight, but has already scored seven goals and provided the same amount of assists.

The arrival of Fernandes helped Man United reach 19 games unbeaten in all competitions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of the FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea.

The form of Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford has been lauded recently and Shearer lavished praise on the playmaker.

Shearer told the BBC: "I know the addition of Bruno Fernandes has added so much. With that signing he has given an extra ten percent to every other player. With the number of chances they create in that team they are so exciting.

"He has an ability to find that killer pass with pace on it. United used to struggle against teams who sat back because they couldn't find that pass.

"He has improved the players around him. They were good players but they are better because of him. That's because of his ability to find that pass and his brilliant touch."
