Alan Shearer asks Ian Wright if Newcastle United will sign Kylian Mbappe

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has asked Ian Wright whether Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe could complete a move to Tyneside.

The Magpies are being linked with an audacious amount of names as they edge ever closer to their takeover, leading to a wealth of excitement.

Among the most outlandish names being touted for a move is France World Cup winner Mbappe, who has been continuously linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool.

However, with Newcastle set to have a hefty transfer kitty to spend, Shearer asked Wright whether he could see Mbappe in the famous black and white shirt.

“You couldn’t see him at Newcastle then?” Shearer asked, to which Wright replied: “I’m not sure, I’m not sure I could see him at Newcastle, and I love the Toon."

Gary Lineker then chimed in, adding: “Well, if the Saudi Arabians take over then they’d be able to afford anyone!”

Mbappe has been in sensational form in recent seasons, establishing himself as arguably the greatest young forward in world football 64 goals in 76 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG.
