Caglar Soyuncu is reportedly a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea this summer after another impressive season for Leicester City.
The Turkey defender has been at the King Power Stadium since signing from German club Freiburg in the summer of 2018 and has caught the eye for the Foxes.
Still only 25, Soyuncu arguably has his best years ahead of him and is now attracting interest from Man United and the Blues, according to Turkish journalist Erkem Konur, via the Express.
He said on Twitter: "Continuing their search for a stopper, Manchester United have put Caglar Soyuncu on the transfer list.
"Talks with Leicester City are scheduled to take place soon. He is closely following Caglar Soyuncu at Chelsea."
So, at the moment, it seems as if United are at a more advanced stage in their pursuit of Soyuncu, with Chelsea looking from the background.
The Blues have been linked with a centre-back as Thomas Tuchel looks to put his own stamp on the squad ahead of his first full season in west London.
If Soyuncu is indeed on his list, then Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer may have already sent Tuchel a warning over one part of the Leicester defender's game.
Ferdinand was mostly full of praise for the Turkey international, but did point out a specific part of his play that could need improving.
“Soyuncu, for me, will play a part in leading this team," said former Manchester United centre-back Ferdinand on the BBC's coverage of Euro 2020.
“He’s a very, very quick, very assured defender.
“In the first season in the Premier League he was outstanding, possibly the best defender in that team. It’s been a bit stop-start since.
“What he’s got is an abundance of pace and he covers the other centre-back, which is a fantastic thing to have in your armoury.
“At times he does jump in and over-commit, even if he has the pace to get back and recover.
“At the top level, against the top teams, sometimes you don’t get the chance to come back for a second bite of the cherry.
“What you’d say is that he puts himself on the line, he’s brave, he comes out with big headers and he can defend the box.
“Turkey are going to need him to perform. They only conceded three goals in qualifying, the best record alongside Belgium.
“He is a warrior. He likes to win the first ball, he loves to go in and pressure the first ball and sometimes a striker will like that – (Shearer) would have rolled him, maybe?”
Shearer then carried on from his BBC colleague Ferdinand.
“I was just about to say that," he said.
"Having watched him this season, it’s the one fault with him. He just tries to nip in front of you instead of being patient. For a forward who likes to turn and feel the defenders, that would be a slight issue from my point of view.”
