Alan Shearer and Isaac Hayden stunned by Allan Saint-Maximin's Newcastle United goal

Allan Saint-Maximin wowed a number of famous Newcastle United faces with his stunning goal in the Magpies' 2-1 victory over Burnley.

It looked like it was going to be another afternoon to forget for Steve Bruce's side after Matej Vydra's first-half effort, in an opening 45 minutes that saw Dwight Gayle have a goal chalked off for offside and Newcastle denied what appeared to be a clear penalty.

Just four points clear of the relegation zone and with just two wins in their last 19 matches, another defeat would have pushed seen Newcastle remain precariously perched above the drop-zone.

However, Allan Saint-Maximin was the man of the moment after his introduction off the bench in the second half turned the tide of the game significantly.

After teeing up Jacob Murphy for the equaliser, Saint-Maximin fired home a superb effort after a dazzling run to hand Newcastle three points that may be valuable come the end of the season.

Fans were understandably overjoyed with the contributions of the Frenchman but they were not the only ones to be dazzled by the winger's performances.

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, injured midfielder Isaac Hayden and superstar presenting duo Ant and Dec were among those that took to social media to share their reaction.

Newcastle's win puts them six-points clear of the relegation zone heading into the final six matches of the season, which culminates with a clash against relegation-rivals Fulham on the final weekend.

The Magpies are just a point behind Burnley, who have been fully sucked into the relegation fight following the loss to Newcastle, while Brighton are also in a precarious position but are yet to play this weekend.

Next up for the Newcastle is the hosting of high-flying West Ham next weekend, followed by a trip to Anfield to tackle Liverpool.
