Alan Rickman's Supportive Role Behind The Scenes Of Harry Potter

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe recently shared his initial intimidation by Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise. Radcliffe admitted feeling terrified by Rickman during the filming of the first three movies, attributing it to Rickman's commanding voice and presence.

However, Radcliffe later discovered that Rickman was a supportive figure behind the scenes. Rickman would go out of his way to encourage the younger stars of the franchise, attending Radcliffe's stage plays and engaging in post-show discussions.

Despite his supportive nature, Rickman did have moments of frustration, particularly when Tom Felton, who portrayed Draco Malfoy, accidentally stepped on Rickman's cloak during filming. Felton recalled being scolded by Rickman for the mishap, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.

Even though Rickman faced health challenges, including a prostate cancer diagnosis in 2006, he chose to continue his role as Snape in the Harry Potter series, stating that he wanted to see the story through to the end.

Now, with the upcoming Harry Potter TV series on HBO, a new actor will step into the challenging role of Severus Snape, following in the footsteps of the beloved Alan Rickman.

For fans of the Harry Potter franchise, all movies are currently available for streaming on Max, providing an opportunity to revisit the magical world created by J.K. Rowling.
