Alan Partridge: Why, When, Where, How and Whom? - Everything you need to know about the BBC documentary

Alan Partridge first appeared on screens 25 years ago with his very first radio chat show signalling the start of his ascent to being one of the most popular comedians in the country.

Next year, 2018, will see Partridge – real name Steve Coogan - return to the BBC and the channel have produced a one-off documentary about his life and career to celebrate.

What’s it about?

Partridge’s unrivalled career has spanned two radio series, five television series, four specials, two books and even a movie.

Alan Partridge: Why, When, Where, How and Whom? will take a look back through the history books at the comedian’s life, featuring never-before-seen footage, rehearsals and some improvisation.

Who’s in it?

The man behind the voice, Steve Coogan, will feature heavily in the programme alongside the team who helped make Partridge a star all those years ago. These names include Rebecca Front, David Schneider and Armando Iannucci.

When is it on?

Alan Partridge: Why, When, Where, How and Whom? will air at 9pm on Wednesday 27 December on BBC2.
