Alan Hardy to pay Notts County staff with proceeds from 'designated turnstiles' at Saturday's friendly clash with Ilkeston

Notts County owner Alan Hardy will aim to pay staff with proceeds from gate receipts at Saturday's friendly with Ilkeston Town as the club ask supporters to use 'designated turnstiles'.

Staff at Meadow Lane are yet to receive their wages for the month of June as the club continues its battle with financial turmoil.

On Wednesday, Notts were granted a further three-week extension at High Court over a £250,000 unpaid tax bill, successfully fighting off a winding-up bid by the taxman.

A day earlier, Hardy told club staff that he would aim to pay them their owed wage on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week, as he continues to promise supporters of an imminent takeover.

But still no wages have been paid.

Now the club will look to use 'designated turnstiles' for this weekend's pay-on-the-gate pre-season friendly clash with nearby Ilkeston at the New Manor Ground as a last ditch attempt to pay what they owe.

On their official Twitter account, the club tweeted: "The entire proceeds from everyone who passes through designated 'Notts County' turnstiles at Saturday's friendly against [Ilkeston Town] will be used to help our unpaid staff."

The NCFCOSA are still inviting donations to help staff in the meantime while they continue to make their own financial commitment to the cause.

All donations will be recorded by donor and amount, meaning that if staff are paid, monies may be handed back or, with consent, retained for future emergency use.

For full information on how to donate, details can be found  at www.ncfcosa.co.uk.

You can also follow them on Twitter @ncfcosa or via their Facebook group.
