Alan Hardy issues Notts County sale update after High Court verdict

Alan Hardy has given an update on his attempted sale of Notts County.

The Magpies owner says he will be "exchanging contracts with the new owners" in the coming days.

Hardy made a statement shortly after the club's latest appearance in the High Court on Wednesday.

“While I hoped and expected a takeover to have been completed before today’s hearing, I am pleased to say I will be exchanging contracts with the new owners of the club in the coming days," he said.

“I would like to thank all our supporters for their continued patience. I will provide a further update in due course.”

A winding-up petition issued against the club by HMRC over an unpaid tax bill of at least £250,000 was adjourned by the High Court for a third time - until July 31 - in order to give Notts more time to complete a sale.

During the High Court hearing, the Magpies' barrister, Hilary Stonefrost, said a Danish consortium is closing in on buying the club.

That group is understood to be brothers Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz, the brains behind Football Radar, a betting statistics firm, who have been pictured in talks with Hardy at Meadow Lane.
