Alan Hardy event giving 'warts and all' account of Notts County reign postponed

An event where Alan Hardy was set to give a “warts and all” account of his reign as Notts County owner has been "postponed due to unforeseen circumstances".

The former Magpies  chairman was planning to share “the incredible highs and deep lows” of owning a football club at the event which was being hosted by the BusinessDesk.com.

Mr Hardy sold Notts at the end of July to Danish brothers Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz, which came at the end of a desperate year at  Meadow Lane culminating in the club being relegated from the Football League.

After losing their status as the world’s oldest professional league club, Notts then suffered a turbulent summer which saw staff go unpaid for two months and attend the High Court on three occasions because of a winding up order from the taxman.

Mr Hardy was planning to tell delegates how he intends to "rebuild his  business empire" after seeing his Paragon Interiors firm collapse earlier this year, which led to 90 staff being made redundant.

BusinessDesk.com says it would have been the first time he had spoken publicly about his exit from Notts, and how losing the Paragon business affected him and his family.

He was also set to talk about his plans at the Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club where the lunch was being held.

Tickets would have cost £45.
