Alan Combe leaves Hibs as Jack Ross trims coaching staff after arrival of Craig Samson

Alan Combe has left his role as Hibs goalkeeping coach, the club have confirmed.

The boyhood Hibee had been at Easter Road since 2014 after leaving city rivals Hearts, and initially kept his playing registration in case of an emergency between the sticks.

Combe worked under Alan Stubbs, winning the Scottish Cup with the club in 2016 before going on to help them achieve promotion back to the Scottish Premiership under Neil Lennon.

He remained on the staff during Paul Heckingbottom’s brief tenure and latterly worked under Jack Ross since his arrival last November.

However, after Ross brought former St Mirren ‘keeper and Sunderland coach Craig Samson to Hibs earlier this summer, Combe was surplus to requirements.

A club statement read: "Hibernian FC can confirm that goalkeeping coach Alan Combe has left the club.

"Everyone at Easter Road would like to wish Alan all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts."
