Alan Carr turned to Most Haunted star Yvette Fielding for help with poltergeist named Pete

Everyone always gets excited about spooky encounters but no one really wants to come face to face with a ghost.

So spare a thought for TV favourite Alan Carr who was harassed by a poltergeist called Pete.

Ex-Blue Peter presenter turned supernatural enthusiast Yvette Fielding, who is close pals with Alan, tells me: “A poltergeist is a very noisy ghost that throws things around.

“It is quite disconcerting and scary when you come downstairs and all your tables have been rearranged.

“Something happened to Alan and he kept on to me about Pete The Poltergeist. A lot of people come to me with things like that.”

Funnyman Alan isn’t the only one to be pestered by a naughty ghoul – Paul O’Grady regularly gets spooked.

“He is a huge believer in the paranormal and has had many things happen to him,” says Yvette.

“Every time he goes on an investigation he goes ‘Right, Yvette, these ghosts don’t scare me’, and then he shrieks and says ‘Don’t leave me all on my own’.”

Most Haunted’s Yvette, 51, who has teamed up with eBay to give tips on sussing out haunted items in your home, adds: “We were in a coal shed and Paul felt something touch him.

"He squeezed my arm so tightly he bruised me and then he was like ‘I’m out of here’, and he left me on my own.”

Well, fangs for that Paul!
