Alan Carr 'too polite' to correct Priyanka Chopra in hilarious The One Show blunder

Alan Carr has tickled viewers during his appearance on The One Show when he was "too polite" to correct Priyanka Chopra, who thought he was an interior designer.

Comedian Alan joined hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating in the studio, while actress Priyanka, who is married to Nick Jonas, joined via video call.

During the conversations, Alex told Priyanka that Alan was starring in an interior design show called Interior Design Masters, but did not specify that Alan was a guest and not a design expert.

"Alan here is on a show that’s all about interior design, I mean, he is just as surprised as you!" she said.

But Priyanka gushed that she had just finished doing up her own home and thanked Alan for his generous contribution to interior design, seemingly unaware he is actually a comedian in the UK.

"Let me tell you, we just finished doing up our house, just now, in LA," she said.

"And it was the first time in about 15 years that I’ve spent time picking colours and cushions and, you know, investing in my corner.

"So I think what you do is such an integral part of most people’s lives, so thank you, really."

Alan did not want to correct the incredibly polite star and so stayed silent, but Twitter noticed the awkward moment and shared their mirth.

One tweeted: "Priyanka Chopra thinking Alan Carr is an interior designer and Alan being too polite to correct her is top tier One Show."

Another giggled: "This is amazing".

"Yeah no. Alan Carr is not an interior designer by any stretch," added a third.

A fourth joked: "What time tonight are we clapping for all key interior designers, such as Alan here?"

Others rushed to Priyanka's defence, pointing out she had no way of knowing who Alan actually was.

One wrote: "I'm sorry but nobody in the US knows who Alan Carr is unless they're into the british comedy scene. Let the girl breathe she was just trying to be nice."

Another added: "They introduced him as a designer it’s not her fault but theirs.

"Y’all are laughing at her for saying thank you to someone who makes someone house they live in just right for them . Leave her alone".
