Alan Carr and husband 'working together' as he seeks help after worrying black eye snap

Alan Carr is supporting his husband Paul Drayton after his drinking relapse.

The Chatty Man star, 45, who has been married to party planner Paul since 2018, has thrown his support behind his husband after he posted a concerning snap of himself with a black eye on Instagram.

The much-loved comedian has revealed that he and his husband are now ‘working together’ in a bid to get Paul back on the right track after her ‘fell off the wagon’ and started drinking again while Alan was away filming in Wales last week.

Paul, who has been with the star for over 18-years, is now seeking ‘the help he needs’ after his alcohol relapse left him covered in bruises and scratches.

Sharing the details about his husband’s bruises, Alan revealed: “While I was away filming on location the past few weeks, Paul fell off the wagon and started drinking again.

When I arrived back home from Wales, Paul was covered in scratches and bruises from a drinking binge.

“We are now working together to get the help he needs to get better which is our number one priority right now," he told The Sun.

After Paul posted the concerning snap of his black eye to Instagram, worried fans flocked to ask the star if he was okay.

Although he deleted the upload after just one hour, Paul had replied to a comment about how he achieved the injury by saying: "We had a bad row.”

Paul did not confirm who he had argued with or how he sustained the black eye.

Since then, Paul has posted on Instagram that he is upset with suggestions that his beloved Alan was involved or responsible.

He posted an image of a mug which had "I’m such a mug" emblazoned across it.

Paul then penned: "I’m feeling very fragile at the minute and would like to say that Alan would not and has never hit me.

“And I’m devastated that he has to deal with this today.”

Earlier this week, Paul left his celebrity pals concerned when he shared a photo of himself with vomit on his T-shirt.

Alongside the snap, Paul wrote: “This is what alcoholism does to you. My gorgeous husband took this pic.”

Naturally, his followers flocked to the comments to share their concern as they sent supportive messages his way.

Former Countdown host Carol Vorderman commented: “We love you, Paul.”

Elsewhere, former EastEnders star Tazmin Outhwaite wrote: “When was this? Are you OK?”

Alan and Paul have been together for over 18 years.

The lovebirds tied the knot in 2018 at a stunning ceremony in LA in Adele’s sprawling mansion.

The Mirror has reached out to Alan’s representatives for comment on this story.
