Alan Brazil winds up Rangers icon Ally McCoist as he teases pal over Celtic and Dundee hybrid strip

There's been precious little time for some light relief given the bitterness which has engulfed Scottish football these past few weeks.

We've been following the twists and turns since March and it's all got rather unsavoury at points.

No least with Rangers' feud against the SPFL and the fallout from the controversial season-ending vote.

The already infamous April ballot will forever be remembered for Dundee's dramatic u-turn which paved the way for the lower leagues to be called and Celtic to soon be crowned Premiership champions.

For those of a Rangers persuasion, another title for the Parkhead club is a hard one to stomach.

That didn't stop Celtic fan radio host Alan Brazil taking a fly dig at pal Ally McCoist live on-air, asking if he'd yet seen the "new Dundee away strip".

McCoist was smoothing over his light-hearted war of words with Rod Stewart, who claimed Rangers should concede the title, a notion the Ibrox hero branded "nonsense" earlier this week.

Nonetheless, he was keen to offer the rockstar the olive branch on Thursday.

"I think he's been great for Scottish football," McCoist told talkSPORT.

"I don't agree with him at this particular time because I don't think Rangers have a problem with Celtic, I don't see that at all.

"I think Rangers' problem is with the SPFL.

"But there's absolutely no way anybody can doubt Rod Stewart's commitment to Scottish football."

But Brazil immediately tested his mate's magnanimity with a swift quip.

He joked: "That Dundee away strip next year is a cracker, eh? The green and white hoops."
