Alan Brazil makes Brendan Rodgers Celtic admission as he tips boss for Manchester United

Alan Brazil has called for Brendan Rodgers to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager of Manchester United.

The former Celtic boss has steered Leicester City to second in the Premier League, while Solskjaer's side languish in 15th.

Victory for Leicester at the Emirates against Arsenal was followed by a Europa League win in Greece against AEK Athens and a 4-1 demolition job away against Leeds United.

Solskjaer, meanwhile, is under pressure after a league defeat at Old Trafford against Arsenal last weekend followed by Wednesday's Champions League loss in Turkey against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Brazil insisted Rodgers has the quality to succeed as United boss, with Rangers legend Ally McCoist in agreement.

"I'd give Brendan the job at Man U," said Brazil, to which McCoist responded: "I think Brendan's different class, I really do."

Brazil continued: "If Ole's to go, I would look no further than Brendan Rodgers.

"Brendan, he's moved around, I still think of him as a Celtic manager. He's gone to Leicester, he's done a brilliant job.

"Yes he's had money, but I don't care. He's done a fantastic job. Look at the table as well, he is top class."
