Alan Brazil in savage Celtic confession as he fears they 'might draw Billericay' in Europa Conference League

Major Celtic fan Alan Brazil admits his excitement levels are low ahead of his favourite team's adventure in the Europa Conference League.

The Parkhead side will drop down to the newly-formed competition after coming unstuck in their breathless 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Ange Postecoglou admitted after the loss that Celtic aren't at the level of the Germans yet and more work is needed to make inroads in Europe.

But the Conference League offers the chance to stay in Europe after Christmas and end a wait of 18 years to win a knockout tie on the continent.

However, Brazil's enthusiasm was waning when he discussed it on his radio breakfast show.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I don't look it, I don't even look at it (Europa Conference League).

"They might draw Billericay, the way things are going."

But the former Scotland international believes Europe isn't the ultimate goal with Celtic desperate to unseat Rangers as champions and gain access to the Champions League group stage.

He added: "Let's be honest, this is not the Champions League.

"Their big game is improving in the SPFL, beating Rangers to make it a tight, tight affair."
