Alan Brazil in Rangers mischief as he baits Ally McCoist with suspect Alfredo Morelos 'interview'

They say the best form of defence is attack.

It's clear Alan Brazil agrees after he went on the offensive to wind up Ally McCoist on Friday morning.

The Celtic -daft pundit watched his own team get hammered 4-1 by Sparta Prague last night and yet couldn't resist trolling his on-air pal.

McCoist's Rangers European goal record was broken by Alfredo Morelos after the striker notched in the Ibrox side's dramatic 3-3 draw with Benfica.

And Brazil sprung a surprise on his talkSPORT Breakfast Show, declaring he'd secured an exclusive "interview" with the Colombian.

But it quickly became apparent something wasn't quite right.

The content of the so-called interview was quite obviously NOT the 23-year-old striker, but rather an attempt to bait McCoist into a response.

Perhaps even scripted by Brazil himself, the clip featured a joke interpreter supposedly translating what "Morelos" was saying.

The clip went as follows: "It's a pleasure to bring a point back to Glasgow and break records doing so.

"But, I have to be honest, I hadn't actually heard of this McCoist character before tonight.

"I recognised the photos of Gazza and Souey that are up at Ibrox but I thought the other guy was the kit man.

"Are you sure he actually played as a striker?

"It only took me three years to beat his record and apparently he played for 15 years.

"Anyway, I'd also like to thank all the messages of support I've received - I even got a text from Neil Lennon.

"Maybe he won't be so lippy on the touchline now. I'm not really sure what that one means.

"But I'm very pleased and I hope the Rangers fans are happy back home."

You can listen to the full clip above - but make sure you nab a pinch of salt before hitting play.
