Alan Brazil has warned Leeds United could find themselves in a relegation battle if they suffer a slump in form.
The Whites have been roundly praised in the Premier League this season for their style of football under Marcelo Bielsa, which has taken them to 12th in the Premier League with 14 points from 10 matches.
They sit eight points clear of the bottom three and have games against relegation-threatened West Brom, Burnley and Brighton on the horizon.
Those are in amongst fixtures against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, creating an intriguing fixture list for Leeds.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Brazil said that the Whites cannot afford a slump in form.
"They’ve got to be careful," he said.
"People are always talking about what a great side, energetic, full of zip and full of energy, but you look at the table you don’t want a slump."
When put to him that the Whites current sit in mid-table and do not look under the threat of relegation, Brazil said that a hectic Christmas period could change the look of things at the bottom.
He said: "Not at the moment, but if they have a bad Christmas.
"I want Leeds to stay up I want them to be halfway and that’s where I think they can finish.
"But I look at the bottom of the table, look at the results we’ve had recently, ridiculous, a club at the bottom could have a run… three-four games, win two, draw two or win three, draw one, you’ve got to be on that button all the time."
