Alan Brazil confesses to Rangers 'reality' as fresh Steven Gerrard Newcastle rumour seized upon

Fed-up Ray Parlour has told Celtic fan Alan Brazil to accept Rangers are going to win a second title on the spin.

The Arsenal legend wasn't messing about as he urged his pal to stop tipping Steven Gerrard to become the next manager of Newcastle.

Brazil first floated the 41-year-old as a potential successor to Steve Bruce last week and believes a switch to St James' Park would be the perfect managerial move to prepare him for a potential return to Liverpool.

The Ibrox boss turned heads in Glasgow with a runaway Scottish Premiership title success last season and consecutive trips to the last 16 of the Europa League.

The likes of Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte have also been mooted after a mega money Toon takeover, and Brazil couldn't resist trying to float a fresh rumour about Gerrard potentially heading to Toon.

But an exasperated Parlour had enough, and he said: "Oh, not this again!

"Rangers are going to win the league again."

Brazil responded: "I didn't say they aren't, it's (Newcastle job) just a brilliant stepping stone to take a big club in the English Premier League.."

Steve Bruce remains at the helm but it still seems likely that the 60-year-old will exit imminently with a clash with Tottenham looming on Sunday.
