Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle done for the year with broken ankle

According to Alabama head coach Nick Saban, the injury suffered by wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is going to cost him the rest of the year. Saban confirmed Waddle suffered a broken ankle against Tennessee.

Waddle was considered one of the three or four best wide receiver prospects in the 2021 NFL draft and a lock for a first-round pick. His combination of deep speed and route running is truly elite even compared to the other top receivers to come out of Alabama in recent years.

Despite the fact Waddle’s season is over, it should have very little impact on his draft stock with six months to recover.
