Alabama WR DeVonta Smith had a wild 4-TD first-half against Ole Miss

Alabama’s wide receivers, primarily Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III and DeVonta Smith, are on a different level than the rest of college football. Combine them with Heisman Trophy candidate Tua Tagovailoa, and you’ve got a basic but hard-to-come-by recipe for a dominating offense.

Saturday against Ole Miss was all about Smith, who entered the game with the Crimson Tide’s third-most yards this season but had a wild first half.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound junior racked up four jaw-dropping touchdowns in the first 30 minutes at home against the Rebels and went into the locker room with eight catches for 221 yards. Smith’s phenomenal performance accounted for most of Alabama’s five first-half trips to the end zone, while Tagovailoa ran for the other one.

To put his unreal first half in perspective, Smith entered this game with a total of 20 catches for 263 yards and three touchdowns from Alabama’s first four games.

And his mesmerizing plays — or embarrassing for Ole Miss, depending on how you look at it — are definitely must-see moments.
