Alabama TE Irv Smith celebrates meeting Bill Belichick

Irv Smith enjoyed a special moment during his pro day this week. The Alabama Crimson Tide prospect, set to enter the 2019 NFL Draft, got the opportunity to meet New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

On Twitter on Thursday, Smith shared a photo of his interaction with Belichick and Alabama coach Nick Saban. In the tweet, Smith seems to refer to Belchick and Saban as GOATs (a.k.a. the greatest of all time).

Smith is considered one of the best tight ends in the 2019 class, and may wind up being a first round pick. The Patriots first selection comes at 32nd overall, roughly where Smith is projected to go in the draft.

He finished 2018 with 44 receptions for 710 yards and seven touchdown receptions. In 2017, he was less productive with 14 catches for 128 yards and three touchdowns.
