Alabama’s stars shine in national title blowout vs. Ohio State

Alabama continued its dominance of the college football world Monday night, beating Ohio State 52-24 in the National Championship Game, led by huge performances from their top prospects.

Tons of records were broken as Crimson Tide quarterback Mac Jones threw for 464 yards and five touchdowns, running back Najee’ Harris tallied 79 yards on the ground and 79 more through the air, and Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver DeVonta Smith needed just one half to rack up 12 receptions for 215 yards and three touchdowns.

Smith left the game with a hand injury and did not return, but his presence was not required as Alabama imposed its will all night long, particularly on offense.

Smith could easily be the first receiver off the board in the 2021 NFL draft, while Harris could be the first running back selected, and Jones could crack the first round, as well.

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore had a career game for the Crimson Tide defense.

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields was held to just 194 yards and one touchdown through the air, adding a team-high 67 yards rushing after running back Trey Sermon suffered an injury on his first carry of the game and did not return.
