Alabama police issue emergency alert for 19-month-old toddler missing with mum

Police have issued an emergency alert for a missing 19-month-old toddler and her mum amid concerns for the baby's wellbeing.

Ava Dansby was last spotted on March 19 in Montgomery, Alabama, US, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Authorities believe the toddler maybe with her mum Lateasha Wright, 21, who would have been looking after her child.

Family and friends have had no contact with the missing mum since her disappearance.

Police said Ava is 2-feet and weighs 2 stone and the mum is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs 8 stone. She has black hair and brown eyes.

According to officers, the mum had made some concerning posts on social media before her disappearance.

Their family have pleaded for anyone with information to get into contact with police.

It comes after a missing teenager in Tennesee, US, who was last was last seen at her home on March 15 between 1am and 2am, texted a family member to say she was struggling with the recent death of her dead.

Since Haliey Wells, 17, sent the heartbreaking text message there has been no contact from her or on social media, according to her family.

Her mum Angela Sanders has pleaded with friends and family to look out for her as she doesn't own a vehicle and is likely on her own.

She wrote on Facebook: "Hard post for a Momma to make...be on the lookout and prayers pls!!

"Can ya'll please let me know if you see my daughter Haliey Wells, she left the house Wednesday morning 1-2am and we haven't seen her since.

"We received 1 text on Thursday saying she needed some time to herself to think...that the death of her dad was something she just couldn't get over it.

"She said she was with a friend a girl...that's all we know. She has not responded to text or social media."

The missing teen is white, caucasian, five-foot-two-inches and weighs approximately 7 stone.

It is not known what she was last wearing on the day of her disappearance, according to authorities.

Angela's emotional post has been shared over 500 times on Facebook and yesterday she was told by officers her phone has not been in use since she went missing.

Authorities believe the phone battery is likely now dead or turned off.

The mum wrote on Monday: "Please continue to look for Haliey Wells. It's almost 2 weeks with no news.

"Most concerning is Haliey's phone has not been used during this time. The phone company says it's turned off or battery is dead.

"The fact is, she’s not home, she’s not safe, and we don’t know if she’s dead or alive. What we do know is that if she is alive, she’s in desperate need of help.

"No matter how small or unimportant you might think something it is very important to us and could be what leads to her."
