Alabama House of Representatives District 78 special election set for Sept. 7, 2021

Election officials have scheduled a special election for the District 78 seat in the Alabama House of Representatives on Sept. 7, 2021. The seat became vacant after Kirk Hatcher (D) was elected to the Alabama State Senate on March 2. The primary is on May 25. If no candidate wins a majority of the primary vote, primary runoffs are scheduled for June 22. The filing deadline is on March 23.
