Al Pacino's awkward interview on The One Show earns praise from viewers

Al Pacino gave an at-times awkward interview on The One Show, earning praise from viewers.

Some were surprised to see the actor on the BBC’s chat show on Tuesday.

Pacino himself seemed at one point not to be aware of the name of the programme he was on.

“Did you dream about The One Show last night”? host Alex Jones asked him, only for Pacino to stare back in apparent confusion.

“This is the one show,” Jones clarified, to which Pacino responded: “I should’ve [dreamt about it], though.”

At another point, Pacino almost left after mistakenly thinking the interview was over.

"I was just going to leave," he said, before being told he wasn't done yet.

On Twitter, several people praised Pacino for his behaviour during the broadcast.

“Al Pacino on The One Show was so enjoyable. He appears to be a very humble, caring and all round lovely person. One of the greatest actors ever but he’s certainly no diva,” one person wrote.

One viewer highlighted a moment in which Pacino unveiled a portrait of a 95-year-old veteran called Eddie.

“Just watched Al Pacino on The One Show. He unveiled a portrait of Eddie (a 95-year-old D-Day veteran) and stood chatting to him with his arm round his shoulder as the credits ran. Some of these talentless ‘divas’ around now could learn a lot from that,” that person tweeted.

Pacino was promoting Hunters, a drama about a group of Nazi hunters airing on Amazon later this month.
