Al Pacino baffles fans with The One Show appearance as he tries to leave mid-interview

Hollywood Legend Al Pacino left viewers tuning into The One Show on Tuesday evening baffled.

The actor, 79, was invited onto the talk show - alongside Hunters co-star Logan Lerman - to be interviewed by hosts Alex Jones and Matt Baker but appeared to have no clue about the show he was appearing on.

The chat did not get off to the best star when he began: "You always dream about the things you're doing."

Alex responded in jest: "Did you dream about The One Show [last night]?"

Proving he was not aware of the name of the show he was on the actor froze in silence.

Alex then reminded the star of his location as she added: "This is The One Show!"

Matt was unable to hold back his laughter at the situation and Al saw the funny side as he said: "Oh, I should have [dreamt about it]."

Then Al tried to sneak off the set mid-interview as a VT was played highlighting his amazing career.

"I was just going to leave," he said to the hosts before with Matt replied: "No, no, you're not done."

Fans of the actor took to Twitter to comment on his 'painful' interview and others were shocked that the legend took time out for the BBC show.

One penned: "Al Pacino on the One Show. Painful interview with the numbskull presenters."

Other noticed: "Al Pacino is not on this planet never mind The One Show!!" and "Al Pacino being on The One Show and looking utterly blank when they mentioned "The One Show" is the most One Show thing that has ever happened."

"Am I actually seeing Al Pacino on the One Show? I can only assume he got lost on the way to Graham Norton" mocked another.

Finding the booking hilarious, others added: "Al Pacino on The One Show. Please tell me they're going to make him sit through a report on parking regulations, presented by Dom Littlewood" and "Al Pacino on the One Show. The bloke’s done everything there is to do in the world of acting, and he’s about to watch John Sergeant visit the bloody pencil factory."

*The One Show airs on weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
