Al Horford: Curry’s 2016 dagger vs OKC one of ‘toughest shots ever’

With the league on indefinite hiatus due to the health risks imposed by the spread of the coronavirus, many are reliving some of the best highlights from seasons past.

And while there are many games that Thunder fans would love to re-watch, there are probably some that they wish they would never see again.

Such as Oklahoma City’s 121-118 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors from February 27, 2016, the game that will be forever defined in NBA history by Steph Curry’s “Bang! Bang!” 32-foot game-winner with .6 seconds remaining.

The NBA tweeted out the clip on Friday as part of their current #NBATogetherLive campaign, which drew a myriad of reactions more than four years after it first took place.

Current Philadelphia 76er, Al Horford, called the bucket, “one of the toughest shots ever!”

Curry scored a game-high 46 points and matched an NBA single-game record with 12 made 3-pointers.

He overshadowed a 37-point effort from Kevin Durant and double-doubles from Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka.

The Warriors would defeat the Thunder in seven games in that year’s Western Conference final. Durant would leave shortly afterwards to join Golden State, and the rest is, as they say, Oklahoma City history.
