AJMER: Day after curfew was imposed in Karauli following violence, one person was killed and several injured in Beawar's vegetable market on Sunday morning after a small argument over a vehicle hitting a motorcycle turned violent.
The incident caused tension in the area and several people from both the sides attacked each other with sticks and rods. Ajmer SP Vikas Sharma and deputy SP Sumit Maharda reached the spot to control the situation.
"We have rounded up several people. Action will be taken against the accused," he said. This is second such incident after a similar issue was witnessed in Karauli, within 24 hours.
According to police, Mohammad Saleem (54), resident of Jama Masjid, had parked his motorcycle in front of his shop. The neighbouring shop owner also came on his vehicle to deliver vegetables in his shop. His vehicle accidentally hit Saleem's motorcycle on which the two began arguing. Soon, people gathered and began attacking each other with sticks, rods and other weapons.
Saleem was injured on his head, his two sons were also hurt among many others. All the injured were rushed to Government Amrit Kaur hospital where Saleem was declared dead. Some were admitted for treatment while others were discharged after first-aid. The deceased's body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
