Ajax youngster Dillon Hoogewerf appears to confirm Manchester United transfer

Ajax youngster Dillon Hoogewerf has confirmed he has agreed to sign for Manchester United.

The 16-year-old forward is set to join United after he decided to reject the proposal of signing professional terms with the Dutch club.

Hoogewerf took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to post a short video which showed him transform from an Ajax shirt to a United kit following speculation of his future.

The 16-year-old impressed for Ajax Under-17s last season and is considered to be one of the most promising prospects in their youth set up.

However, despite an impressive season in the Netherlands Hoogewerf decided against signing professional terms with the Amsterdam club. Speaking earlier in the year Said Ouaali, head of Ajax's youth academy, confirmed the teenager was going to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

"Dillon has indicated last week that he will leave the club." Oualli told Ajax TV. "He is leaving for a foreign club. We wish him a lot of success and know that we have done everything to keep him.

"He may ultimately make the choice and choose a foreign adventure."

The young forward is expected to begin his life at United in the U18s and could feature for Nicky Butt's side in the Youth League next season.
