Ajax vs Real Madrid LIVE: Uefa Champions League commentary stream, latest score, prediction, team line-ups

Ajax vs Real Madrid LIVE
Uefa Champions League, Last 16, first leg

Venue: Johan Cruyff ArenA, Amsterdam

Kick-off: 8pm GMT, tonight

Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE Champions League commentary stream for tonight’s Last 16 first leg tie between Ajax and Real Madrid.

Ajax dominated the opening 45 minutes of this game, and Nicolas Tagliafico thought he had put the Eredivisie side ahead, only for his header to be ruled out by VAR decision.

That decision has proven doubly punishing on Ajax with Real Madrid now leading the tie thanks to Karim Benzema's second half goal.

But Hakim Ziyech fired home the equaliser with 15 minutes left on the clock.

Our Spanish Football Correspondent Ben Hayward is in Amsterdam this evening, and he’ll provide the analysis while Malik Ouzia guides you through the action.

Who will come out on top? Stay tuned to Standard Sport to find out…

Team line-ups

Ajax XI: Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Blind, Tagliafico, De Jong, Van de Beek, Schone, Ziyech, Tadic, Neres

Substitutes: Lamprou, Kristensen, Veltman, Sinkgraven, Huntelaar, Dolberg, De Wit

Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Nacho, Ramos, Reguilón; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Benzema, Vinicius.

Substitutes: Navas, Vallejo, Mariano, Marcelo, Lucas V., Asensio, Ceballos

Score prediction: Ajax 2-2 Real Madrid

Expect plenty of goals in Amsterdam. Ajax have scored 15 times in their last four games, but also conceded 11 in the process.

Real will certainly feel they can get at least one or two away goals to turn the tie in their favour, but head into this fixture after draining matches against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Dutch giants Ajax know the Champions League holders are not the force they once were, while Real will also face the prospect of their first knockout tie without Zidane and Ronaldo's star quality, so the visitors have a mental test to overcome.
