Ajax star Owen Wijndal reckons Rangers managerial target Francesco Farioli is as good as his former boss - Liverpool's title-winning manager Arne Slot.
Rangers have reportedly held discussions with the Italian coach as they continue to hunt for Barry Ferguson's permanent successor.
He took over at Ajax a year ago, but left after a dramatic collapse when they were nine points clear with five games to go in the Eredivisie title race, but only won one of them, allowing PSV Eindhoven to pip them to the league by one point.
But Dutch international left back Wijndal, who was linked with a move to Celtic last year, reckons there are similarities between Slot and Farioli, having played under Slot when he was manager of AZ Alkmaar.

What Arne Slot thinks about 'very good' Rangers contender Francesco Farioli
He said: "They are definitely similar in the tactical part of the game, but also how obsessed they both are.
"They predict a lot of things, what will happen in matches.
"I always got the impression with both managers that they are just so prepared for whatever happens in games.
"It really doesn’t matter who it’s against, we know what we have to do, we know how the opposition danger men are, we know who we have to pay attention to and we know how we can win this. That's the same with both of them.
"Another similarity between them is the role of the full-backs. The way Arne Slot wanted to play with the full-backs, Francesco Farioli has that belief very much too - playing on the inside, but also with the overlap, that kind of thing.”
