Dusan Tadic believes his Ajax side would have won last season's Champions League had they beaten Tottenham in the semi-final.
The Dutch side were well on course to reach the final, but were stunned by a second-half hat-trick by Tottenham's Lucas Moura in the second leg of the last four.
Goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech had increased Ajax's aggregate lead to 3-0 at the interval, but Spurs roared back with two quickfire goal from Lucas, before the Brazilian scored in the 96th minute to seal a dramatic 3-3 draw which saw Spurs progress on away goals.
And speaking this week, the former Southampton midfielder says he is still unable to come to terms with the defeat.
The Serbia international was also adamant that the Eredivisie champions would have gone on to lift the famous trophy had they overcame Spurs - even though they would have faced Liverpool.
"I will do anything to erase that match from my memory," he told B92.
"If we had done to Tottenham what I had to do, we would have won against Liverpool.
"That was without a doubt one of the worst finals in the history of football. Ajax would certainly not have played as badly as Liverpool and as uninspired as Tottenham."
Liverpool were eventually crowned European champions after beating Spurs 2-0 in the final in Madrid.
Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi saw Jurgen Klopp's side lift their sixth European cup, while Mauricio Pochettino would end up leaving Tottenham in November after a poor run of results.
